As soon as you turn onto Quinlan Court, you’ll notice the pride of ownership from many of the owners, the strong curb appeal and care taken to keep up the properties, and the low-traffic “street hockey”-friendly location. There’s a forest peeking up behind the homes on the north side, and once you turn the corner, you’ll catch your first glimpse at 197 Quinlan.

Walking up to the home, you’ll see the weed-free green front lawn, and the entire corner lot is filled with professional landscaping that’s easy-to-maintain with mostly shrubbery and perennials. The brick-and-stone exterior combined with the landscaping combine to create some of the best curb appeal on the market.

There’s a wood pavilion in the backyard for covered meals or relaxation, and the yard has a great mix of sun and shade. Don’t like seeing your backyard neighbours when you walk out of the kitchen? Great! You won’t see anything here.

Inside, the home has no carpets – only tiles and hardwood on both the main and second floor. Every original “builder grade” light fixture, window covering, and every cabinet & countertop in the kitchen and bathrooms, has been ripped out and replaced with high-quality custom options by the current owner. Please click on this list of Detailed Renovations.

There are two lazy susans in the corners to allow easier access to storage, all of the cabinets are deeper and taller than the original kitchen, and the floor-to-ceiling look of the cabinets makes the nine-foot tall ceilings appear even taller.

Other highlights include the master bedroom with custom closet organizers, the convenient main-level laundry and “mud room” area coming in from the garage, and the built-out family room fireplace area with porcelain tiles. Also, there’s an irrigation system in the front and backyards, a cold cellar in the basement, and the furnace is equipped with a Lifebreath UV light and air filtration system to keep the air clean and healthy.

The wrap-around windows on the corner lot create a welcoming, bright & sunny environment, and the combination of indoor and outdoor space makes it an excellent home for large, medium or small gatherings. You’ll love the area, with easy access to both Public and Catholic elementary schools, walking trails, and multiple parks within a few minutes walk.

About the Neighbourhood

Scott

Built around the same time as Harrison north of Derry Road, this neighbourhood mirrors the trend of starter houses closer to the train tracks, and larger houses further west with great views of the Escarpment. The builders who sold most of this area include Greenpark, Fieldgate, Arista, Mattamy and Heathwood.  Intracorp built some somes in the north that rival some of the larger east lot sizes. This neighbourhood has one of the highest concentrations of homes backing onto green space. Even though the density is still higher than the east neighbourhoods, this area consistently breaks price records and offers some of the most impressive homes in town.
